Palawan Mission · 2026.08.31–09.06

In Palawan, we shared the Word and prayer with students, soccer players, seminarians, and pastors. Through meetings in chapels, on playing fields, and in classrooms, JBU encouraged the learning and growth of the next generation and local ministry leaders.

The Word for the Next Generation

At Bethel Senior High School chapel, we worshiped and shared the Word with students. We spoke hope in God to young people preparing for their futures.

At chapel, we also watched a one-minute message supporting the Palawan soccer team, joining together to encourage the children in their dreams and challenges.

“Your story is just beginning.”

We encouraged them not to measure their possibilities only by their current circumstances, but to value the life and gifts God has given them as they take their next steps. We also blessed and prayed for the teachers who teach and care for the students.

Dreams Growing on a Rough Field

The soccer team’s trophies in the school library held the story of the effort built together by the students and their coach. Through daily practice, the students were learning to trust one another and run together.

The training environment was difficult. On the hard, rough field, soccer shoes sent from the United States could be damaged before they had been worn twice. The students cleared hazards from the field, leveled the soil with their shoes, and worked to make the uneven ground safer for practice.

Like the one-minute message we watched at chapel, this is a small way of continuing to encourage the dreams growing on that rough field.

During this visit, we spent time with the soccer team and delivered scholarships to encourage the students in their learning and challenges. Sharing meals and prayer reminded us again that these students need continued attention and partnership so they can play safely and continue their education.

Leadership from Calling into Life

With seminarians, pastors, and local leaders, we taught and practiced Leadership Formation.

Together, we explored how people called by God are formed through ordinary life, relationships, waiting, and difficulty. We connected leadership with ministry responsibility and reflected on a life that stands before the Word and serves the people entrusted to it.

Through profile exercises, we took time to understand ourselves and one another. Through Shalom QT practice, we learned together how to read, meditate on, and apply the Word in daily life.

Praying for One Another’s Lives

During the ministry, we prayed for people who shared physical and emotional struggles, asking God for healing and restoration. We listened carefully to each person’s story and sought God’s comfort and peace together.

Our Journey Continues

This visit showed us how the next generation’s learning, young people’s meals and playing fields, and local leaders’ training in the Word are all connected.

Thank you to every partner who joined us through prayer and giving. Your generosity became moments of relationship, learning, and encouragement in the field.

JBU will continue walking with the students and ministry leaders of Palawan as they grow in faith.

Please continue to pray and partner with us for the learning and dreams of the next generation and the growth of local ministry leaders.
